One of the really nice aspects of a rotary tattoo machine is that they are so quiet compared to coil machines. There are clients that come into a tattoo shop and quickly chicken out and won’t go through with getting a tattoo and having even just a dot of tattoos inks on them because they hear that buzzing of a tattoo gun, and they suddenly have flashbacks of the sounds of drills at a dentist filling a cavity. For some reason that buzzing sound heard from a coil machine terrifies many people, and some people quickly back out as soon as they hear that buzzing sound approaching them. Additionally, not only does this help save business that’s walking in the door for their first tattoo, it also helps mean that since the experience is more pleasant for them, they’re more likely to come back!
